@Hursty I hear ya mate, but when I think about it, it does bother me. As ‘elite sportsmen’ these footballers led a privileged existence during various lockdowns - able to go about their everyday lives with access to training facilities etc. whilst (most of) the rest of us were doing what we were advised to do as we awaited vaccines to be developed and then rolled out. For the vast majority of people, we waned to take the vaccine to protect ourselves and our families and friends and wider society in a bid to prevent further lockdowns and setting us back to square 1.
The virus has killed millions of people and left many millions more with long-term health issues, it has ravaged businesses, global economies (but we know all this). I find it pretty despicable that there are so many footballers playing in the Premier League who have chosen not to take the vaccine despite the fact they were given so many privileges that the rest of us were not entitled to.
Yes, most people are double jabbed but I currently have a close friend with an uncle who is touch and go at the moment. They are in their 60s and doubled jabbed. Fit as a fiddle - goes to the gym every day, hardly drinks and never smoked etc. He’s done everything right, but might still end up dying. Meanwhile we’re all still in this and unvaccinated people are the biggest risk to continuing the spread / prolonging the grip of the virus.
Selfish fucking cunts basically.
