Wally If the history of Citeh is anything to go by (and I think they’re the closest analogy to Newcastle at the moment):
a) Success didn’t come overnight
b) Neither did marquee signings
They went through a period of buying top, but possibly facing talent, misfits and outcasts. It was a few years before they were able to go out and sign pretty much anyone they wanted. Few years after ADG bought them, I think there was enough momentum in terms of their performance, and enough evidence that ADG weren’t going anywhere for the open chequebook to have more of an impact on their transfer activity…
