Done deal then. Seems reasonable view vs what we paid for Antony imo
Gakpo for £37m is a great bit of business.
We paid £65m for Cucurella.
Smallman1 Your assessment of value holds no water following your recent transactions with Uniqlo!
Smallman1 Klopp moaning like a sour twat that Liverpool can’t spend like other teams when they were in the shit at the start of the season, casually dropping 35 to 50 million just like that on a star player.
Fair play for the signing, but STFU about not being able to spend.
Jules72 Cody Cackpoo.
He has a good strike on him, but the rest of his game is mediocre.
I agree he’s not what Utd need. Had ten Hag really wanted him they’d have surely got the deal done.

Absolute scones.
Jules72 would be a bit odd for United to sign yet another winger… not what we need
Agree with this bit. Except the winger bit. Doesn’t seem clear what his best role is, which makes me nonplussed if I’m honest.
Jules72 plus we simply don’t have the cash right now
Not necessarily this bit.
Mad_Cyril
See bit on cash reserves… doesn’t mean the cash can’t be raised but I can see the Glazers wanting to hold off on large expenditures just before the club’s sale

If Smallman was choosing a kit manufacturer for Chelsea, he would probably go with Macron, given his tastes.
Jules72 Am aware.
There’s also the argument about making an investment more attractive though. Which might make a player purchase more probable.
Having said that, if said investment sucks the soul out of the club, that would be a very sad day.
Feels like we’re on knife-edge right now and playing personnel is a trivial matter!
Mad_Cyril strongly doubt the idea that buying increases the attraction to a purchaser - it’s fantasy imo … moreover, doubt the Glazers will see it that way… our large ticket buying is on hold imo
Would prefer Arsenal to win the league, but they will surely run out of steam due to squad depth.
SD & Strummer, the only real Arsenal fans on here - the rest can fuck off: Dubbers (part-timer), Flares (LOL), Harwood (Fanny)
Never really disliked Arsenal, in fact I would say Dennis Bergkamp is the best footballer I have seen in the flesh.
(I never went to a Liverpool-United match before any United fans start)
Wally I think he means spending bigger money. City could buy Bellingham and still get another few players if they wanted. We will need to sell players to buy Bellingham and even then I’m not sure the owners would pay that much.
RichM FFP isn’t completely useless you know? City can’t just buy anyone and anything whenever they want. Liverpool are rumoured to be number 2 in what they paid for their squad in the PL behind City so Klopp cannot legitimately complain that Liverpool either can’t spend or some other teams can spend whatever, whenever. It’s just excuses from someone who can turn incredibly prickly when the chips are down.
Wally Where are you getting those figures from Wal. Liverpool are not number 2 in net spend since Klopp arrived

Transfer spend is only one indicator of financial power of a club, though, and Liverpool are 4th in the table for spending on wages, which is probably a more important indicator: https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/premier-league-wage-bill-ranking-arsenal-newcastle-man-utd-city-liverpool/
Often cited that Darwin Nunez had a more expensive transfer fee than Erling Haaland, but Nunez is on 140,000 quid a week according to The Times and Haaland is on about 1 million a week from various accounts. So the whole financial outlay for Haaland is obviously much bigger (as it should be).
RichM Net spend is not gross spend. No one is saying they aren’t doing good business by also flogging players (on occassion for more than they bought them for) - the point is that they have spent a lot and can spend a lot.
4th in the table for wage bill and still whinging about other clubs having unlimited spending power kinda proves my point that Klopp is a mardy arse when things aren’t going his way. (Also backed up by the fact that now Liverpool have turned a corner and are winning again, suddenly who gives a fuck about other clubs?)
