As was expected… in which case they should stand by him.
If they sell him it has to be with a buyback clause / right of first refusal in any deal, otherwise to compound their error it will be absolutely inevitable that some Serie A club will pick him up for peanuts, then in a year sell him for a massive £profit to Newcastle/City/Chelsea with zero fuck’s given, and the press likely not batting an eye claiming he’s done his time etc. etc.
