alistair That was the briefing that came from United, not necessarily true.
What wasn’t true? It was clear on the pitch early last season that Sancho was overweight and sluggish.
alistair It’s pretty tough to see mediocrities like Anthony and Martial keep getting game time and they never had two seasons like he had at Dortmund or a run of form at United to deserve it
The two seasons at Dortmund where he was still dropped and fined for numerous cases of unprofessionalism?
I’m not a fan of Antony much as a player either, and Martial has lost some of his pace sadly - but I suppose the point is they will have still been doing the work in training and showing the right attitude.
alistair As for England, there’s far greater strength in depth in the wide positions than at United
Well yes, and he wasn’t close to the level of the likes of Rashford and Sterling when he played for England, even during the days when he was doing well for Dortmund. It’s not like there’s this player who was even as good as Rashford all along whose form suddenly disappeared when he moved to United - where he played alongside Rashford and, erm, continued to look inferior to him.
Oh, and I just saw that Sancho’s poor attitude towards training was even on show at City. I’m sensing a theme here:
