Impossible to have an objective debate about the serial incompetence and cowardice of officials because nearly everyone has skin in the game. Fact is that many on field officials shy away from big decisions on the pitch in big games because of the personal repercussions. Especially sending offs. Then the VAR officials strain the meaning of ‘obvious’ not to interfere. Then Klopp and Arteta make a massive fuss and get an immediate positive reaction from the officials in the next games. If Wolves were Man City or one of the other top few, given the fact that they seem to get about one terrible decison per game they would be all over the media but poor old Gary O’Neil just shrugs his shoulders and knows his place. Not a level playing field really.
