Jules72 an City and Chelsea have far more productive academies…
Really?!
Man City have only had Phil Foden, and occasionally Rico Lewis, as academy grads playing for them this season.
While Utd have had Rashford, McTominay, Garnacho and Elanga featuring a fair amount this season. They’d have also had one more making a major impact were he not suspended. Utd have loads of other academy players in the PL eg Dean Henderson, Michael Keane, Jack Harrison, Andreas Pereira, Dwight McNeil, James Garner, Jesse Lingard, Danny Welbeck.
Utd even won the FA Youth Cup last season!
Chelsea’s has also been excellent for a while, sure, and have had James, Mount, Gallagher, Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah and Hall playing this season. Albeit a number of those players have clearly not been that great this year.
Ultimately I don’t see how the academy is an area which can be much criticised, it’s stayed pretty consistently excellent over the years.
