The reason he played well was because he still had whatever Arsenal had coached into him going on.
After he signed permanently, Bruce and his special brand of ‘just take 3 days off lads’ coaching took over which is why he joined all the other Newcastle lost souls in no man’s land for a while.
Since Howe has come in, he, like the rest of them, has been reborn. Willock could definitely do a job for England. He’s been consistently ‘good’ for the whole season but is really finding his feet of late. You’ll not see a better pass than the one he did for Isak against Spurs this season. If he can get his scoring boots on, I would say he definitely needs a call up - he misses too many he should put away at the moment - but I think that’ll come - Howe’s already done it with the likes of Joelinton and Almiron.
