King Charles coronation: Liverpool to play national anthem before Brentford game

Liverpool will play the national anthem before their game against Brentford on Saturday, despite saying they know some fans “have strong views on it”.

The club’s supporters booed ‘Abide With Me’ and ‘God Save the Queen’ before last season’s FA Cup final.

Pretty happy with what fat had achieved against shitty. He managed to galvanise a completely disfunctional side and install a bit of pride and fight into the team. Also the first time I’ve seen us playing in a formation and holding it for the entire game and everyone knowing their jobs.
He dropped Aaronson and Messlier which needed doing months ago. The only thing I don’t agree with is playing that useless fuck, Bamford.
Other than that, can’t fault him. Surprised too.
At least there’s a glimmer of hope now unlike last week where there was zero hope. MOT.

Ten Hag’s poor squad management could be coming home to roost; his insistence on going full strength in practically every game in every competition - eg at home to Forest in the Carabao Cup SF 2nd Leg when 3-0 up - is contributing to the players running out of gas when it matters.

Rather than focusing on the key games in the key competitions and winning them, he could end up coming near but failing where it matters.

hugopal not sure about that … one of the players who has dropped off big time is Casemiro - he has been sitting out a lot of games through suspension…. Think Martinez injury matters - he gives the side a lot of grit… and Garnacho always gave us a great option from the bench..and we are way too over-reliant for goals on Rashford… 4th place is still ours to lose but it does all look very rickety… luckily (for us) 3 of our 4 remaining games are at home where our form is still strong

nicksneddon Lol. Wanted him for ages. I remember watching Chelsea West Ham at the bridge about ⅘ years ago and seeing some real talent, then squinting my eyes to work out who it was only to realise he was the guy we let go. Same time Antonio was bossing it down the wing and making all kinds of trouble.

Hursty He’s better than those two. Paulinha only joined Fulham a year ago and there wasn’t a clamour for his services then. Rice was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch yesterday and that’s not new either.
