Hursty He’s better than those two. Paulinha only joined Fulham a year ago and there wasn’t a clamour for his services then. Rice was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch yesterday and that’s not new either.
alistair problem is the English player premium… the 140-150m being talked about a while back was clearly ridiculous…100m more sensible but still very high compared to non-English peers
Jules72 true but I believe there is only a year left on his contract so WH risk him walking out on a free. I do also wonder whether Liverpool’s proposed transfer budget is predicated on them being out of the champions league next season which may not necessarily be the case.
alistair ETH wants to extend his £370k a week contract. PLEASE
Worth every penny.
alistair ooo last bit 😀… the formerly smug scouser at work will make my life a misery if that happens
Good man on and off the pitch it seems.
I just don’t see it with Rice I’m afraid. He may have played ok last night, but where’s he been for the other 30 odd games?
Paulinha and Mac Allister for 100m together or Rice for 100m? I know what I’d prefer
gcw Just how many of those have you watched mate? I’ll defer to @nicksneddon on that. I thought he was also quality at the last WC and Euros. Nearly always top of the charts for intercepts and tackles and he’s added attacking qualities to his game.
alistair i watch him most weeks so know exactly what he does, and you are absolutely correct. This season he hasnt been able to make the driving runs through the midfiled hes been doing for the last couple of seasons, i put this down to how the team has been set up
Casemiro cost £60 million and hes in his 30s, Rice is 21 ( I think )?
nicksneddon 24 yrs old
He isn’t worth £100m though, and I appreciate he doesn’t set his price tag. Is he a top 5 midfielder in the world? Not a chance.
Obviously at that age he has years ahead of him to get to that elite level
gcw in his position Id argue that he could be, Kante is prolly the only one in our league i would put him with. Casemiro as well possibly
He’s no Fred that’s for sure.
Cankles-McJeggings He’s no Fred that’s for sure.
Exactly Derm.
Decent, but not stellar
Mad_Cyril Exactly Derm. Decent, but not stellar
Mad_Cyril Exactly Derm.
Please remember that it’s ‘stella’ on this board. Definitely agree he’s not ‘top draw’.
Agbonlahor really is a prized BERK. It turns out his scoring rate was practically the same and he was a striker.
alistair Is he employed by talkBERK?
The ‘Big Sam’ effect already sparking a wave of optimism here in Leeds
Mad_Cyril Whatever happens with Everton / Forest this evening, Leeds are in the relegation zone aye? Big Sam not being able to draw his way out of trouble means it doesn’t look good.
nicksneddon Lol. Wanted him for ages. I remember watching Chelsea West Ham at the bridge about ⅘ years ago and seeing some real talent, then squinting my eyes to work out who it was only to realise he was the guy we let go. Same time Antonio was bossing it down the wing and making all kinds of trouble.
Wally you’ve gone early on Big Sam there!
Wally Pretty fine margins, could go a few different ways the next few weeks
