Fair play to Leeds fans.

A Tottenham and a Liverpool fan I know are saying they’ll stop supporting if they join the breakaway and are tempted to just stop supporting now anyway, it seems a natural break point after years of being fleeced, and in the Spurs fan’s case he will just go an watch his local non league team, Clapton. They’re matchgoing fans (not season ticket holders but people who go probably 6-7 times a season).

I wonder how many other people, regular or armchair, are thinking of abandoning their club as a result of this? Not really seen unified, focused anger like it amongst footy fans before.

bosstrabs Trying to work out if in ten years time, the ESL ends up looking very much like the current footballing structure, nearly as many teams, but club owned, no FAs or FIFA etc. and no relegations. I think a lot of people would then be drawn back to it. But yeah, as it stands, it’s hard to get behind.

The thing is, if Leeds happened to be in ‘the big 6’ at the moment (if ever there were such a thing, they definitely were in the 70s and 90s), they’d be all in too.

It’s sort of a quirk of fate that it just happens to be Man City instead of them.
