Along_the_Wire

Took me 8 hours to get home - absolute nightmare, three hours in the car park and then traffics on the Everbody Needs (the) A303

A brilliant Glastonbury - felt less busy than last year. Fucking hot. Still a lot of scousers there - most of them were sat on the floor with half inflated balloons in their mouths

Saw a lot of bands and acts - favourites, in order were:

The Orb
Pulp
Four Tet (live, his DJ was an abomination)
Floating Points
Overmono
Leftfield
Hothouse Flowers

Was Sat by the Mandela bar for Rod Stewart - you could see the screen - looked awful. My favourite bit was watching a sea monster behind singing Do You Think I’m Sexy

Took a load of Mushrooms just before the end of Rod in readiness for The Orb at Glade and legged it over and was really coming up as I got there - never seen them before, but fuck me, the combination of the mushrooms, the visuals and the music was sensational - the best audio/visual experience I’ve ever had

Along_the_Wire Saw the Orb the other month in a great little venue and thought they were brilliant. Totally get what you mean about their visual set up as it’s pretty intense.

I remember doing acid at an Orb gig at Royal Albert Hall in 1998ish. Was an amazing audio and visual experience

Saw them back 94 for the U.F.Orb album. it was the first time I went to concert without really dancing. We all just stood there a watched the visuals

I saw them at what was the Brighton Event in ’92 doing the Ultraworld album, supported by Oaky on the decks, fantastic night, undoubtedly improved by the strawberry acid tab I’d taken. Happy times 🙂

Those strawberries were good as they weren’t that strong but also clean. The serpent’s that came after really strong.

Must’ve been the Miners benefit tour as I was at the Sheffield one, Justin Robertson as well as Oakenfold.

I saw them back in 54 when they were going through their synthesise the harmonica phase.

Visuals were great, it was a couple of WW2 amputees all juiced up on acid wriggling round the stage.

A top top night.

Smallman1 Dave would be absolutely horrified at the Chinese food available at Glastonbury, would tip him over the edge I suspect.

More importantly, unless there is a LOUNGE with dece wifi, unlimited mini quiches, small-pot biryanis and prawn sandwiches and unlimited SCHWEPPES soda water, Glasto can fuck off.

Hursty Slightly at the cheesier end of prog, but they kept the bpms down from the 140 everyone was playing. Great way to see the sun going down. Enjoyable.

mono-stereo I didn’t - went there on Thursday and it was so stupidly busy - not fun at all. There were some grade A casualties down there
