Along_the_Wire yeah it’s a lump of meat!
A list of restaurants
Along_the_Wire New York restaurants try too hard
Same could be said for London. We have our fair share of poncy restaurants in San Francisco but I swear only tourists go to them.
A great steak is all about preparation, timing and seasoning, not to mention the quality of the cut

Alistair blowing minds over here.
jonattonyeah while you’re just blowing.
jonattonyeah Never quite understood the fuss around steakhouses. It’s not like steak is difficult to cook at home. If I’m going to drop a ton of money on a restaurant meal it’s going to be for something either too difficult or too fussy to make on my own.
You’re wrong.
And what’s more, you’re a grotesquely ugly freak.
I’m actually super hot. Men love me.

I disagree - there are a few like that, but not many. In NYC there are plenty of top end restaurants that try to hard and serve you up something that just doesn’t work and is horrible
Actually a Chris Morris line
It just clobbered me as I was randomly scrolling. Great line.
Smallman1 Bit of a joke list IMO. I love the Hawksmoor restaurants. Great steak, and the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had, but best steakhouse in the world? Not convinced it’s the best steakhouse in London…
Bavette’s at number 7? Decent enough steakhouse - sure, but eye-gougingly expensive for what it is. The balls to charge $30 for some roasted bone marrow…
Flat Iron at 42? I mean - what they do, they do really well, and if democratising good steak is the measure, then they’re excellent at it. For me though, the 42nd best steakhouse in the world should be serving more than one cut of steak. They’re doing what any number of decent French bistros have been doing for years - serving an excellent steak-frites at a good price.
Amazed to see there aren’t more entries from Japan. Genuine A5 Wagyu cooked over charcoal is probably my favourite taste experience ever, and there are a bunch of places in Japan doing that brilliantly…
A friends says this place is good, have never been -
