It’s an SF institution. Been around for (by our standards) ages. For whatever reason, German-style hofbraus were a thing around here decades ago. Tommy’s Joynt is one of the last left. Quirky place with solid eats and beers for $3. Not the sort of thing one would eat every day but well worth a visit from time to time.

Yeah it’s a bit of a hole in the wall with nothing for vegans that’s for sure. But I’m not picky about spotlessness. A colleague is the chief health inspector. He’s told me some of the “nicest” places have some of the worst standards when it comes to food safety so I’m not too fussed as long as the place passes their annual inspection. Now Chinatown on the otherhand….he’s told me horror stories.
