I’d be all in for the pastrami, with mustard and cucumber if they had it.
Pastrami is one of the world’s greatest gifts.
Pastrami, Prog and Kitchen sinking.
Or winning as I like to call it.
Oh and looky here. Our spot Tommy’s get’s the picture billing on Ed’s fav food tourism site…

Kin hell, not a lot of variety in San Fran is there.
UNLIKE LONDON.
Smallman1 Kin hell, not a lot of variety in San Fran is there.
Eh, the list is about old restaurants that have survived over the years. It’s hardly a “best of.” I’m not the biggest fan of SF’s food reputation (prefer what Oakland across the Bay has to offer) but there’s plenty of variety and quality. Indian is sorely lacking (have to go south to the Valley for that) but we’re blessed with top tier produce and fish so no complaints. Honestly quite hard to find bad food around here given how expensive it is to operate a restaurant. Can’t half-ass it.
jonattonyeah Heading to an SF classic for lunch. Tommy’s Joynt! Proper corned (salt) beef sandwich with jus and Coleman’s mustard. Mustard! And a lowly 5$!
It’s Colman’s dammit!
Why are most members of this board incapable of getting that correct?!
As a side-note, I didn’t know until now that what Americans call “corned beef” is exactly the same thing as salt beef in the UK.

So what’s this UK haute cuisine then?
Mr Sweating The Deets is in the house!
Smallman1 dude, you claimed it was the best mustard in the world, yet you can’t even correctly say what it’s called.
It’s as bad as the display for Nina’s gig in the other thread that was spelled incorrectly and which you saw fit to laugh at.
Here’s a large image of a jar so it can get burned in to your collective retinas:
Mad_Cyril
We have the same thing here. It’s minced corned/salt beef bashed into a can and I’m not entirely sure why it exists.
EDIT but I love Spam so who am I to judge.
Spam Musubi is an all time Hawaiian snack. Give me two immediately.
Mad_Cyril I’ve never really looked at a can - I always assumed all that kind of tinned meat shit was poor food for chavs and didn’t investigate any further what it was and contained.

Probably explains why you’re still a virgin.
Tinned meat is like musk to the ladies. Get involved!

He does seem to be fairly successful, despite not being able to dance.
Smallman1 yet another thing that puts the GREAT in GREAT Britain.
It was called GREAT BRITAIN for a reason, it wasn’t called RUBBISH BRITAIN by whoever came up with the name (The Vikings?) was it?
hugopal This is what Daves’ 5pm appointment left in his shower after an hour of complete wrecklessness
jonattonyeah Why do they have a Kuwaiti having a nervous breakdown behind the sandwich?
Had a very pleasant time at Acanteen in Chelmsford for their taco evening with Jimpster spinning some tunes on the decks. A few margaritas and then a negroni. Marvellous evening
RichM Had a very pleasant time at Acanteen in Chelmsford
Which one?
RichM I take my kids there every now and then.
