I don’t know what it is about Hilltop, but psy always sounds good there. Going by most of the clips I’ve seen of Nina, the place was throbbing. got a bit of an anxiety attack seeing the crowds and all.

Personally, I can’t stand the genre, and happy that 80% of the bars and shacks I frequent over there now play deep house and tech house for the most part.

Yeah. Hilltop is such a great venue for Psy-Trance. I do think it’s still big in in Anjuna,Vagator and Chapora. Further up the coast towards Arambol you hear a lot more deep house & techno. Not sure South Goa as it’s a lot more up market.

Have you been to borscht, Dubman? The last time I went there the dj was playing a tight hip hop disco sets. Just the novelty of hearing that type of music in Goa by the beach was a pleasure.

There’s still a massive tribe from the West that are still into Psy. Shiva valley next to curlies still has one of the biggest beach parties every Tuesday.
Last time I was in mini Moscow/ Morjim beach there was more Indians. Pre pandemic there was a lot less Russians due to the Russian ruble collapsing. I think it was 1 ruble to 1 rupee.

LT42 Sure - an hour of people watching is hilarious. Last time we were in Morjim for a few days, we got really bored it, really quickly…

The food situation is dire in the morjim area, but I like the beaches there. Not much happening, best to get a nice villa where you’ll spend most of the time, that’s close to the beach.

jonattonyeah Nina hasn’t been the only major techno DJ dabbling in psytrance either btw, for instance I Hate Models has also included bits in his sets for a long time already.

vinnyt77 There are a couple of hardcore thali joints for the locals, but otherwise I think it’s only La Plage that’s worth visiting.

Dubman love their burger and carpaccio. And that strawberry chocolate lava cake is a banger. Good, clean, food.

The US has a thriving psy scene, but they don’t really mix in any other circles. Lots of hippie types who like week long festivals in the woods and shit like that.

The Burners I know are like that. Not entirely sure if they care about the music. Just like the community of it all. They also like building stuff. So they set up really impressive stages and lights. Pretty sure it’s the process not the outcome with many of them.

These days you’re probably right. I went to Burning Man once, in 2001. I only remember the year ’cause 9/11 happened on the drive home. But it was pretty gnarly back then. An experience no doubt. Never went back for good reason. 2021 Burning Man is more like Ibiza from what I understand.
