ScottBailey Homegrove I get that, but there’s no way he only had 1000 viewers that night! Even if you took a conservative guess at 10k people watching globally that night, that should have been an extra £60,000 in the charity coffers! Not pointing a finger at anyone on here cause everyone seems pretty sound, but there’s some proper cheap skanks in the world if they’re capable of watching but don’t want to stump up a measly £6
Kells77 Hursty I have….not the level of excitement I had on the night about it, maybe because it’s missing the banta, but still really loved it! It’s a keeper for sure. Edited to add….I paid upfront AND donated again during the stream - far more than I would have paid for the set too.
Kells77 ScottBailey It could be that Mixcloud took fees from it? Dunno for sure obviously, but that would be my guess.
erik The eye icon on mixcloud, shows total numbers who visited the stream, not the number currently viewing, also if you refresh the page it counts as another view
Old-Dutch I have no doubt in my mind that some people found a way to bypass paying. They must have. Wankers
Unbroken1 SM001 …was just keen to maximise charitable contributions, plus this has affected plans to release it properly at a later date Hursty …because he spent a lot of time putting it together? not to mention organising the whole % charity deal with MixCloud. You don’t think this should allow him a degree of control over when/how it is released?
Hursty I didn’t download it, gutted! How can he be fuming? This is the world we live in. So easy for livestreams to be ripped and let’s face it, only the hardcore listeners have access to the rip. Genuinely thought he would just upload the set.
SM001 Unbroken1 was just keen to maximise charitable contributions, plus this has affected plans to release it properly at a later date I don’t think that is a factor. Most of the total was pre-sold tickets and contributions given towards the end of the live set itself on the night. Digweed has left the contribution site open for people who still want to donate. If people are refusing to contribute now purely off the back of Digweed not releasing the mix yet then we really are doomed as a race.
Hursty Unbroken1 Sorry my point is that how can you not expect a set to be ripped in this day and age? It is an unfortunate byproduct of the digital age we live in. Im with Diggers 100% here but surely he wouldn’t have been that surprised to be fuming?!
Dry-Tinder SM001 There were many people that paid but didn’t listen to it live, or couldn’t due to the buffering etc.
SM001 Dry-Tinder I know a lot of people purchased a ticket in the knowledge that wouldn’t be tuning in live. They just wanted to donate. I don’t think there was a link provided to donate directly until Digweed announced it during the live mix itself.
ScottBailey Kells77 true that! It would be a bit harsh on their behalf if they did. I know they have overheads to cover, but for a one off (charity) event I’d be calling “pony”!
