LOL at this animal market shit. There’s a fucking viral lab there

    Embarassingly pathetic.

“We’re now as sure as we can be, based on the fragmentary evidence we do have, that this was a spillover event that happened in the market.”

    Ffs

This converting to a monkey pox thread as of yet?

Good to see Keith Segwin back on the board.

Incidentally, Cheggers the subject of possibly the greatest tabloid headline ever after his death from alcohol-related organ failure:

    ’Cheggers can’t be boozers’

I can’t decide what to think about this fucking virus anymore. I’ve currently got it again and it’s fucking me over far worse than the first time. I’ve had it since last Sunday. I caught it at the super spreader event Leeds v villa in Brisbane. I had a mask on the entire time and on the plane and in the airport.

It was bad for 5 days then I started to get better and I was like aah sweet that was a piece of piss then day 6 it came back but this time came with a migraine from hell. I don’t suffer from migraine so this is new territory but fuck me it’s brutal. Like my head is going to hatch open and something fly out. Nothing touches it either. I’ve also got really bad nausea this time too and never had that first time like the migraine. I’m up and down all day, one min I feel ok so I’ll go do something then it will just floor me again with what feels like a wave of sickness and head fuck.

Fuck this shit. And fuck the chinks. Bat eating cunts caused this, market or lab it’s still those shithouses fault. It’s the only valid thing to date the orange freak show got right.

I’m fully vaxxed and thought I’d be done with more, but now will probably get another because the thought of it being worse than this makes me want to cry.

Old-Dutch Blimey, that brings back memories. Remember the place being flooded with Fiat Pandas. Enjoy!

RichM something needs to be done to prevent this happening again due to these dodgy markets in China.

Well, China did do something the PREVIOUS TIME THIS HAPPENED, then when everything died down they brought them back (because they really like them).

You sure you haven’t just been reading Alistair’s posts?

This is a culturally ingrained thing that is not easy to change. You can call them filthy or whatever, but it’s an essential part of Chinese cooking that pervades the whole country, that the freshest ingredients* should always be used. That often means killing an animal or fish at the latest practical time before cooking. Many famous Western TV chefs would of course advocate this general principle, although the process may be different (‘farm to table’).
*Some of the ingredients (turtle, snake, pigeon and so on…) may of course be questionable. These three are common too, unlike bat, which I’ve never seen in a market.

The rejection of ingredients that aren’t fresh of course has some good things (flavour!) and some negatives. One negative is that in the Shanghai lockdown people’s freezers just weren’t stocked with meat and ready meals because people here simply don’t do that, however much their income increases and their free time shrinks due to longer working hours and commutes. There is a cultural context that needs to be understood.

Like any of that matters, they are still animals. Can’t wait to see you when the west go to war with China. And they will. Maybe the penny will finally drop what filthy fucking cunts they are when you’re left for dead in some remote concentration camp eating your fingernails for the few months you have left. See if you’re so keen to sing their praises then.

Not really keen to sing their praises, Dermo, merely explaining something.

Fair enough you come across a fawning chinkophile in a majority of your posts. I still dont see why anyone, especially from Britain would want to live there. You’ve had you’re 5 minutes of cultural experiences and there’s absolutely scores of other places you could live especially ones that aren’t at the drop of the hat going to take out Taiwan and then wage war in the South Pacific, more than likely triggering what will be Armageddon. Your most recent plus point being it’s safe at night. The only reason it’s safe at night is because people are terrified of consequences. Said it before, just living there is a show of support to a tyrannical regime that despises you, your family and friends back home. At what point to you recognise that enough to do something about it I don’t know but it will more than likely be too late to get out.

Hmm, I don’t think so really.

I like some things, I dislike others. I don’t think many are as disparaging as me about the uneducated, lower class Chinese and their manners. Who introduced the word ‘nong’ to these boards? (don’t say it was you, because it wasn’t, even though you use it) On the other hand, I try to explain a few things about the country based on lived experience and the fact that I’m probably the only person on this board who can speak and read Chinese.

The Taiwan issue is a long-running saga of brinkmanship by both sides. It’s already de-escalating again, Pelosi appears to have climbed down…

Surely a complete disregard for genocide and human rights should be your number one dislike?
