Millsy Yeah, I remember you saying, But I get it. 7R is unbelievably structured and like 60% cut scenes. I absolutely loved it, but again I am a loser for all FF7 content.

zackster Cannot recommend Bloodborne enough. Can get it for like $20 these days. Beyond scary and engaging. Ludwig is probably my favorite video game boss of all time, and that is truly saying something.

Yeah cracking game that. I had to google the tactics needed against each boss as I was a complete newbie to this type of game and I was getting nowhere with each one (The Spider one in particular). The atmosphere in it was amazing.

nicksneddon I can guess why you gave it up; it is beyond frustrating. The beginning is by far the hardest part, imo. The fact that you don’t start the game with the ability to level up is really some next level torture, especially in a game where literally every enemy can kill you with two shots. I highly recommend giving it another go. Not only is the regular game a poem, but the DLC is considered by many to be the best DLC ever made. I was out of gaming too long to comment, but I will say that the Old Hunters DLC is probably the best part of Bloodborne. Also, I would highly recommend restarting and selecting the Hunters Axe as your first weapon, assuming you haven’t done so. It is extremely cruel that they allow you to pick two other inferior weapons, but that is FromSoft gaming for yah. Starting with a good base build and running to a point that grants “insight” aka the ability to level up is fucking key, unless you are an insanely good Dark Soul ex ex player.

I’m currently on Far Cry 6 on the Xbox Series X which, although is the usual Ubisoft fare, is actually an enjoyable game.

I also have Halo & Ghost of Tsushima waiting to play, as well as other games on Game Pass. Not enough hours!

I will hold off on Horizon until I get a PS5 (if I’m lucky)

gcw its from FromSoft, the makers of Bloodborne. Its their first open world game. Expected to be game of the year. Looks stunning.

Anyone started on Elden Ring yet? Reviews are universally great. Looks amazing to be fair, but 85 hour playthroughs??!! Not sure I have the time for that sort of carry on.

Millsy Watched some gameplay last night - looks brilliant although the mechanics seem to be getting a slating.

Millsy Dark Souls took me 94 hours and it was a tedious pile of shit - mainly because of the MP not working at all but also because of dodgy game design ideas. I get that some people like that sort of thing but it wasn’t for me. I’ve bought elden ring to give the genre another chance (it’s supposed to be a lot more accessible with the open world) but aint gonna be starting it for a while.

Millsy Horizon New Dawn took me more than 180 hours total, however in my defence that was to completely rinse the game out
