This thread reminds me, I checked out GU ‘Electric Calm vol. 1’ for the first time the other day - I thought it was pretty good.
However, I then checked out volumes 2 and 3 and they weren’t as good; this is perhaps unsurprising given that the first one came out in 2002 and both prog and GU generally took a nosedive from around that point.
Therefore, does anyone have any recommendations of other good proggy/trancey ambient mixes along the lines of Electric Calm v1?
I liked that the first one seemed to have an emphasis on being melodic and trancey, as opposed to drifting too much in to trip-hop type territory as ambient mixes are often prone to do.
