sbando lol yeah… Saeed and Palash’s Tide Edit mix also sounds like 2020

Dan oh god that sounds fantasic.

The thing I like most about the vid I found is that was probably filmed at like 10am. No shame in playing until noon if you are playing a marathon set, but turning up at 7 in the morning on a meth suppository and firing light cannons into the air is some next level shit.

Reflecting on it now, DT was kinda Berghain before Berghain was Berghain.

Lol fuck that is such a DT tune too. I see him being incapable of controlling himself to that one. 👌🏼

I love that vid of him playing to about 15 hipsters in his loft. Think it was a promo vid for all the gear he was flogging.

That’s a tune SD, bet it sounded mint coming through the MOS sound-system!

Listened to dark drums 1 and 2 today whilst cleaning and cutting the grass. Still sound class. Lawler was top class for a while.

-si- dark drums 2 was a fantastic mix. That Jamie and Kenny D song is a monster.

      Dan

Always liked this “version” from Jon Carter. Quite hectic but DJ Dan brought the house down with it one night.

Lawler’s Harlem Nights at The End were class.

He’d play for 6 hours+ and absolutely tear the place up.

jonattonyeah fantastic tune. His Live #1 mix was great, and was on my mind when I was carefully crafting this thread.

i always go back to the old dtj bukem mixes (progression sessions, logical progressions), the northern exposures, gu006/009/014, dave seaman’s renaissance awakenings and gu012, danny howells nocturnal frequencies 2. lots of really good stuff from back then, just all seems a bit fast now.

BT rare and remixed got absolutely hammered back in the day

If it seems fast now that doesn’t make it memorable surely?

Oakey’s 007 still sounds absolutely incredible, the pace/BPM doesn’t come into it.

Smallman1 always thought Oakenfold Cream resident was his best effort. Just encapsulated a great period

Lol you guys just can’t help yourselves. There is nothing prog that is currently relevant, nothing. You can still like it, there are many prog mixes I still enjoy, but my god is it ever dated. A double disc mix of BT tunes and mixes… fucking lol!

zackster when clubbing seems as obsolete as it is now, memories matter. With dancefloors shut for what seems forever, nothing is currently relevant. As much as I still like clubbing now and then, its never been as good as it was pre smartphone and when you could go through a packet of cigarettes on the dancefloor

I just have to keep reminding myself to be patient and understanding; you are all old and over the hill. It’s like my parents explaining why Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd are still relevant and better than Taylor Swift.

And in regards to Nina, there is no stronger argument for her being good and cool than the fact that the old folks think she sucks. It’s like I am Zoe Deschanel and you all are Francis Mcdermott from the opening of Almost Famous.

alistair DT just did a live set in Miami. I will post it, but it is like looking into the arc of the covenant.

                    zackster Almost Famous

I saw that movie on the airplane. But because it was an airplane they cut out the plane crash scene. So it just jumped from everything being hunky dory to them crying with no explanation. Why not just avoid movies with plane crashes, Virgin?

Ian Ossia’s mix from Ren 4 was top class.

jonattonyeah it’s my wife’s favorite movie. It’s honestly an ok film, but I never want to see it again.

                        Christian has really delivered tbf!

                        zackster
After so many posts, nobody pays any attention to the title Zack. You should be familiar with the Algorithm by now brother.

                          Mad_Cyril

LOL I did think about it.

EDIT: one of these days I might try and rank every single Essential Mix.

Duncan Bankhead’s mixes really come to mind

jonattonyeah Why not just avoid movies with plane crashes, Virgin?

Look, just because I confessed to blowing it on one, admittedly consequential, clubbing date, it doesn’t mean I haven’t been laid. I definitely have.

SOMEONE POST A TRISCO MIX FOR FUCK SAKE.

zackster you asked for enduring comps, so you got a list of old stuff people still listen to. is most of it “relevant” or does it sounds as fresh 20-30 years later? no, of course not. name a single album from more than 10 years ago in any genre that doesn’t sound dated. i’d have to go back and listen to your original list to be sure, but i would be extremely surprised that any of it sounds like it was made last week.

How Zackster hasn’t listened to 007 is beyond me.

Me old mucka Oakey has delivered an absolute hall of famer!
