  • Most Enduring Commercial Mix Comps

Amps hearing several 140 bpm type techno djs playing early 90s 909 driven breaks right now. Can’t recommend PLOman’s mixes enough. He was on with Ben UFO recently and they played some stuff off of that mix.

Found this in the loft a while back. Seems so fast nowadays.

Tad muscular at the 46 minutes mark 🦾

    No!

Went off as in was absolutely heaving!

    Amps To some, yes! 🙂

Things like old GUs, some of the first Fabric releases, Terry Francis Architecture(s), Renaissance mixes, etc…

      Along_the_Wire Steve Lee was mint.

First time I heard Breeder - The Chain was down there around the 6.30am mark and he played it.

      Was absolutely sensational.

Oakey’s 007 is the compilation I most return to.

And without naming names, someone in this very thread hasn’t ever heard it, I’m staying schtum though!

Might be Marmite but Freeland’s Tectonics is another one for me. Pretty unique mix that I return to more than most mixes from the time.

And before this devolves to “fav mixes”, I preferred Communicate at the time and haven’t listened to that in ages (with all due respect to Trisco).

zackster I’ve never even heard that mix, and I can safely say its the worst call in here.

It’ll be on repeat at Casa Smalls when you EVENTUALLY get over here.

Dave will be fewmin, this is a 5+ pager already in ‘old currency.’

I thought this thread was good “commercial”. I mean if it’s best, that’s a whole different story. Tenaglia GU Athens and to a lesser extent London are seminal. Changed my music tastes overnight. Best DJ in world from 98 on and went out of my way to see him every time he played in London for about 10 years.

Dan We’ll have a whip round?

Happy to contribute SD but I can’t go through the stress of being in charge again.

            Almost killed me that did.

When Danny T drops Ruhe’s Schiller on GU London, mamma mia!

Always thought “Seduction of Orpheus“ was one of the more interesting tracks of the era (and in Hooj’s back catalogue). One of a kind, that one.

Know it got a bad rap but I had some corking nights at Home in Leicester Square.

Saw Oakey, Lawler, The Chemical Brothers and Danny Howells amongst others, absolutely tear it up there.

Dan I think u’ll find dustbin lids are extremely 2020.

Smallman1 it was also Danny T’s London home for several years. Stanton Warriors played some great breaks sets and Parks & Wilson played some good warm sets.

Thought it was a great space.

Obviously had it’s limitations (location, closing time) but as a venue it was spot on.

Smallman1 Know it got a bad rap but I had some corking nights at Home in Leicester Square.

              Thread officially derailed.

              Well done.
