Whoever recommended The Bureau on the old forum, thank you very much! It is brilliant, absolutely loving it, and the whole french culture adds another level of interest to what is pretty much another Spy drama. Excellent research and very believable and relevant context.

Hursty Whoever recommended The Bureau on the old forum, thank you very much! It is brilliant

my first post on the new board - whaheey!

Anyone watch Billions - series 5 now and predictably not quite as good as first series - really good though!

Nice one. Enjoyed Billions, didn’t realise they’d done a new series.

Who where you on proboards Pickles?

cant believe i have never watched curb your enthusiasm. fantastic recomendation

i’m half way through season 3 of west world, not overly impressed so far.

Personally thought Billions was off the chart unrealistic bollox… the hedge fund world is nothing like portrayed there… couldn’t get past the first first few episodes. Each to their own though and all that.

Has anyone watched the latest episode (the first in the second half of the latest series) of Rick and Morty? They losing the plot a bit?!

Jules72 i thought the same. watched 2 or 3 episodes, thought it was crap and never went back.

HBO’s Run sweered to a dark direction a bit out of the blue.

            Jules72

Fuck sake, I was just about to say you can’t be serious, saying billions is a tad unrealistic then comment on rick & morty as if it’s much more life like.

Whilst my eyes read rick & morty, my brain interpreted that as mork & mindy. Time for a break.

Pickles didn’t realise the 5th season had started. I’ll check it out.

I’ve enjoyed it, but can’t help but root for the financiers over Paul Giamatti - he’s such a pompous tub of lard.

Jules72 yeah that R n M episode was a bit of a trainwreck. Only good moment was decapitated spinning blood guy.

How familiar are you with the hedge fund world as well? Not doubting your assessment of Billions, I suppose it’s more entertainment than documentary, just curious (though the show did seem to get a tad more “up to date” by the third season).

…anyone watching ‘I Know This Much is True’? Terrific turn from Mark Ruffalo, pretty heavy going though

not quite finished season 3 of westworld, but it’s seriously jumped the shark.

                • Dan replied to this.

Haven’t watched any of the programmes mentioned in this thread.

                  Cheers.

mono-stereo I was Tonic - didn’t actually post that much but trying to contribute if you’ll be my fwend…:

hugopal yeah - I think it was AA Gill (RIP) who suggested on the first series that the 2 were miscast and Paul Giamatti should have been Axelrod and vice versa - an interesting thought. The most unrealistic element is the Wendy and Chuck being a couple in my opinion!

Has anyone started watching The Test about the Australian Cricket team
