All in on Shogun after the two episode debut. That latino fella who was on Lost and was the Mayor of Gotham on Nolan’s Batman-movies stole the show from the English dude though. Oh, and Anna Sawai is reeeeally purty.
General TV Thread
Finished Criminal Record last night. The last two episodes were absolutely superb.
Just realised there is a TV series of Sexy Beast covering Don and Gal’s early days. It’s on Paramount.
whatever it’s fucking awful.
Oh really? Fuck. Thanks for the heads up
Amazon Prime now has ads - so many of the fuckers, it’s almost unwatchable - literally every ten minutes. To avoid, you have to pay an additional £3 a month. The thieving cunts.
Saw the ads coming and we cancelled amazon. It’s like these companies forgot why streaming became popular in the first place and are creeping the cable model back in place. I’m going the vpn route and back to downloading again. They clearly don’t want or need my money.
Along_the_Wire I acquiesced begrudgingly
I need to wean the missus off of Amazon delivery and then I’m cancelling. What a crock.
I suspect the market must be plateauing and they can’t resist going back to the ad revenues. As 303 says, doing the thing that people want to avoid. Get you back to being a good consumer.

Noticed this whilst I was in India. I’m also trying to cut down on Amazon but let’s be honest is usually the cheapest and can be delivered the next day.
To get way off topic, these giant corporations are a plague on society. We need to get ourselves away from the allure of cheap, disposable goods and back to supporting local businesses. More expensive in the short term, but better for everyone by slowing the wealth transfer to a small number of people.
Along_the_Wire 100% this. If it weren’t for the stack of Amazon boxes turning up daily, they’d be in the fucking bin, where they belong.

Agree totally.
I’m now using Amazon for ‘shit what is hard to find in shops’ (from a physical goods perspective).
What I do order goes to a local collection point to try lower delivery journeys.
Probably pissing in the wind, but it seems a more appropriate approach to the mass consumption model.
Then I see Deliveroo drivers queuing up outside Starbucks
How many businesses have closed down because of Amazon.
