Amps Homegrove I watched ten mins of it and cringed a fair bit. Does it ease up? Can’t do cringe comedy, too uncomfortable to enjoy.
Old-Dutch Dubman Easily the most moving mountaineering documentary I’ve seen in a long time. Even more than this?
Smallman1 Dubman The Last Mountain. A documentary about Alison Hargreaves who was the first female mountaineer to summit Mt Everest alone & without bottled oxygen in 1995. It then turns to a story about her son Tom Ballard, sister and father. Easily the most moving mountaineering documentary I’ve seen in a long time. Have you got a link for your ole mucka Smallman1?
303abuser finished midnight mass yesterday. several hours of my life i’m not getting back and that’s being generous.
Dubman @Kells77 United Skates - A brilliant documentary about the rise and fall of the roller skate rinks in the USA. I didn’t realise how big it was and how racial it got at certain times.
jonattonyeah Dubman Ohhhh that looks good. Dunno how I missed that. Usually up on HBO docs. But yeah rollerskating was HUGE in the Black community over this way. There’s still a rink up in Richmond and a few in Sacramento but they’re pretty much all gone now. It’s a shame. People wonder why sideshows are such a thing (which can get violent and dangerous). Well you don’t give kids something to do they’ll find something to do.
rhouses I don’t know where it aired but Ken Burns’ three part documentary on Ernest Hemingway is brilliant. Dense af, but well worth a watch if you’re a fan of either Burns or Hemingway.
Dubman jonattonyeah I didn’t realize it was a hbo film as i watched it on bbc4. It’s very good with some excellent moves.
