I’ve only watched each episode once in real time on Mondays. And echo’d 303 and a few others on here who weren’t feeling it. Re-watched the first two episodes of this latest season again, with subtitles, and now think it’s still pretty genius. The writing is tight af, not one word wasted. Yes, maybe it’s suddenly starting to feel a tad bit formulaic, which is why people are complaining, but in essence it’s still spot on. The first episode is hilarious and drowning in irony. Kinda went over my head the first time around, where I understood the gist of what was happening, but not really getting enough time to appreciate the things that were being said. Same applied for the second episode.
Fairly sure this entire show will be like the Sopranos where with each repeat watch you will discover something new to appreciate. I’m about 5 marathons down on the Sopranos and each watch has been a joy. I’m guessing Succession will be about 3 marathons worthy, at least. The Wire, at least 7 imo.
