Godfather Part II. My favorite in the trilogy. The scene with Michael and Fredo in the boathouse is amazing, John Cazale was taken way too early.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

It’s close to perfect. Dunno that there is a film with a better opener than the Mc Duck boulder chase. The rest of it is paced and pitched spot on. Ford was on some run in the early 80s. No recollection of the fade from the Paramount card to a real mountain in the first shot, but it was a nice touch, and how anyone chose Eurostile for the opening credits is beyond me.

Haha sounds like a right case. I’ve got a case across the way from us too. He’s known by everyone as the idiot. He’s a mine worker but is a specialist crane operator and apparently earns a fortune. Thing is he’s a raging alchy and because he works 6 on 6 off he gets absolutely battered for 6 weeks at a time starting most days at 10am. He listens to Pink Floyd The wall all the fucking time over and over. He exposed himself naked off the balcony to the drs kids behind him last year and got arrested😆 We watched them arresting him off our balcony it was fucking hillarios. Proper messy.
The other week he left his handbrake off at midnight when he rolled home more than likely pissed. The car rolled down the drive backwards, across the road and straight through the house opposite front wall then garage. He went to bed and when the pigs came pretended to be asleep and next day said someone must have tried to steal it and he fucking got away with it!

it does seem to be pretty popular with audiences, to be fair.

i don’t know if that’s out of some sense of loyalty perhaps, or because it seems wrong to slate what might be the guy’s swansong, but to be honest i’m fine with that really.

All quiet on the Western front - very good. Not sure it’s best picture territory but well put together. Felt sorry for the main actor who was excellent. Must have been a real slog being caked in mud and soaking wet all the time during filming. 8.5 doses of trench foot / 10

Triangle of sadness - heard this was good (inc reviews from on here) but didn’t have a scooby what it was about before slinging it on. Really enjoyed it. A good caustic laugh at awful people. Another best pic nom and could be deserving of it (so no doubt Avatar 2 will win it (ffs)) - 9/10

Completely agree on the fablemans. However I can’t watch anything with Paul Dano and not think of him as the priest in there will be blood. Just does not feel right him acting as a good guy
