Beetlejuice 2 (I’m not doing it) - had the fear after the trailers featured exclusively kids’ films. Starts off really badly, but Michael Keaton is excellent and got quite a few unexpected laughs out of me. 6/10

Along_the_Wire Even the nostalgia of it couldn’t get me to watch it, after being bombarded with trailers over the last two months. Do regret not watching the original in the cinema, it had a run for a week leading up to the sequel.

Stumped up £19 to watch with the daughter over the weekend, she’s a fan of Jenna Ortega.

An absolute nothing of a film, were the unexpected laughs at something happening in the Cinema?

The Substance. An ageing and fading star uses a new drug that creates a new younger version of themselves for a limited time. There are side effects. Not subtle and a bit repetitive at times but Demi Moore is great and the last 20mins are absolutely batshit. I loved it.

Phil-McRackin I told my wife about it and she told me to go see it by myself. So one ticket for next Tuesday reserved for it. It probably didn’t help that I told her of the one Letterboxd-review of it which said “if David Cronenberg and David Lynch fucked and had a baby.”

Homegrove Yeah, it’s very New York theatre. Now that you mention actual film, appreciated the charm of it - easy on the eyes and very calming. Good movie, but not rewatchable good.

“Late Night with the Devil” might be on my watch list this weekend. Anyone watched it? I do like a good bit of low fi horror now and again. Watched The Oddity the other week which was pretty good .

Definitely worth a watch. Better in a dark room without the glow of a phone from the wife!

Yep, I saw it a week or so ago.

Really good recreation of that 70’s US late night chat show thing they have - really well observed. Good performances too - but it all goes a bit bonkers at the end and not particularly scary - but well worth a watch.

Dan Martin McDonagh just not had it in him to make a good picture since In Bruges. I hated Seven Psychopaths, thought Billboards was bad, and acting aside felt this was useless.
