Woodstock ’99 [2021]
Enjoyed it as an odd nostalgic thing from my younger days (not a world I was a part of, but was aware of it) but I don’t think I agreed with its overall tone. The constant tit shots just came across as odd after a while, especially given the docs overt messaging concerning misogyny and violence . Seemed like they were trying to tie a disastrous concert back in 1999 to the rise of Trump or something. Felt very shoehorned. Fred Durst appears to be an idiot and Limp Bizkit never released anything I’ve cared about (they don’t have a Disc 2), but blaming them for impossibly poor festival management seemed like a stretch. Let’s say I book Sasha in 1999 and everyone has their tops off to the best POWER PROG has ever had to offer, is Sasha to blame for a shirtless Ed? I don’t think so. I know what I booked.
Well made. Good footage. Fun watch.
