Figured Grant would appreciate Dune, with its slow burning first half. I loved it, both times. The second half felt scattered and quite random, but I guess that’s part of the plot. The chopper going through the twister and all, felt a bit too long. The only context I had was that it was a shit Lynch movie. Was quite impressed to know the book released in the 60s, and it’s hard not to see its influence on things like Star Wars and GoT. Reading the book now and Villenueve has actually gone pretty understated. He’s chopped out quite a bit of campy dialogue.
