Rate The Last Movie you Watched
Not a film, but watched Roadrunner the Anthony Bourdain documentary, if you are a fan then worth a watch.
Bloke clearly struggled in life, didn’t realise he left behind a kid.
I was a big fan. Not sure I can bring myself to watch the doc. Only celeb death that ever bothered me. Dude had his demons but he seemed to have fought them off. Guess not.
The Power of the Dog: This is a weird, slow-burning western, the acting and tension-building kept me hooked for the two hours. I can’t get enough of the Kirsten Dunst/Jesse Plemmons combo, and this movie does deliver on that front. The kid is ridiculously peculiar, and he’s exceptionally creepy in this. Surprisingly, Cumberbitch is also solid, you keep thinking some crazy shit is about to go down when he’s on the screen. I was excited about Greenwood on sound, and in a way, his approach is similar to There Will Be Blood with the heavy droning. But I do think he’s got the brooding tone a bit wrong in this one. Sure, it has its menacing moments, but I think the Plainview character called for it. Not so much here. Cinematography isn’t very good, nothing breathtaking happening given the setting.
Overall, worth a watch but nothing special. 7.6/10
New Ghostbusters wasn’t bad 7/10
Can we unsticky this? Thanx xx
Ah, didn’t realise it was stickied by me. Changed
Never seen millsy change direction as quickly in my life.
Who made zack the alpha/king/overlord/deity all of a sudden? Am i right, yeah?

Stillwater. Good film, but pretty miserable and horrible tension near the end as you know exactly what’s gonna happen. 7/10

Along_the_Wire looks interesting Grant, I think I can guess the ending though
last night in soho
avoid it
C_J LOL, sorry Stillwater
Venom - Let there be Carnage. A long time since I’ve seen a movie as bad as that.
Riders of Justice. Entertaining Danish film with Mads Mikklesen. Initially thought it was a bit silly and the humour was pretty lame, but it just worked really and the film flew by - an enjoyable 8/10
Along_the_Wire agree, watched it over the weekend. Mads always good and it’s quite an odd mixture of comedy/action/drama but hangs together in the end
MM is the Danish Sean Bean imo. Absolute ledge.
Power Of The Dog.
Really good cast. Slow and quite a strange fim but weirdly watchable . Maybe it’s shite though.
Anyway 6/10
Lol! Al doing his best Loopy impression
Finally checked out Those Who Wish Me Dead. Worst thing Taylor Sheridan’s done movie-wise (Yellowstone is not good apparently either), but it was fun to see a movie that was very much a 90s thriller throwback. The way the fire moved I expect was researched and based on reality. And I now get how you can’t outrun it in a forest fire of that kind.
I love Jon Bernthal. He’s my dude. Will be giving it a go just on him being in it. He makes every movie better. .
I quite fancy a bit of that Hanners. Might stick it on tonight and get back to you with my thoughts.

Couple more flight films:
Limbo - comedy drama about some Asylum Seekers stuck on a remote island in Scotland. Quite funny, stupid and sad. The Q&A after was good. 7/10
Snowpiercer - a Bong Joon-Ho action film - all a bit silly, but great entertainment nonetheless. Quite the shit ending though, so gets downgraded to a 6/10 from a potential 7
Limbo got dumped after 30 mins. Watching incredulous migrants was even less funny than I’d expected.
Snowpiercer was also fairly atrocious I thought.
Check out Coming Home in the Dark on Netflix, that’s pretty solid.
jonattonyeah Ah, Fred Ward’s lovechild. He was ace in The Punisher.
He’s an excellent character actor. Dunno if he can lead much of anything but he’s amazing in Sicario and Shot Caller. Also great in Ford V. Ferrari (an amazing film for those who haven’t seen it - really fucking good).
Team Bernthal.
jonattonyeah Dunno if he can lead much of anything
Tell me you’ve not seen When Saturday Comes (1996) without telling me you’ve not seen When Saturday Comes (1996)

Fitch
Old man berates young robot in a film who’s message appears to be, ‘you learn as you go’. All the depth of a paddling pool, and yeah, what else was I expecting, but this seemed shallow even for a Hanks film.
2 tennis balls out of 5
No Time To Die
Decent Bond film. Couple of odd motivational bits, but okay stuff compared to some of the bore fests that went before.
3.5 fan service sound tracks out of 5 (twats)
Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Meh.
1.5 dodgy syrups out of 5
Sounds like he’s doing an impression of George Cole in Minder.

House of Gucci: Amusing, but quite long (2 hr 40 mins) dramatisation of the life of Maurizio Gucci. Strong performances by Driver and Gaga, slightly ruined by Leto’s hamfisted gay fashionista cousin. Pacino is Pacino and Irons is Irons. Wardrobe and locations are superb. 6.5/10
Wasily Wardrobe
Surely that would be a given for this film?
