Decent but nowt special. Doesn’t piss all over the previous 3 but doesn’t do anything particualrly new or impressive either. Starts off meta as fuck and is quite inventive in places but the longer it goes on, the more generic it gets. The end is pretty meh tbh. Still good to hang around with Neo and Trinity again after 20 odd years for a couple of hours. 7 Monica Beluci’s massive racks / 10 (no, she’s not in it)

Agreed. Took me two times as the tone is so…I dunno…weird? But the second watch I totally got it and loved it. Jennifer Lawrence is excellent in it and the last 10 whatever minutes are just flat out perfect.

mono-stereo As with most Nolan films the sound mix is shite. Dialogue seemed muffled.

is it just me or are a lot of films like this now? explosions and fight scenes are at 120db and you can’t hear the whispering/mumbled dialogue. dynamic range and mixing is all over the place, i find myself turning subtitles on half the time. maybe i’m just going deaf lol.

jonattonyeah some of the satirical jokes fell really flat but the last ten minutes was beautifully played out. Have mixed feelings about it but loved Mark Ryland and Cate Blanchett’s performances.

Ridders goes sudo Kubrician but sort of makes it work. Not enough duelling for my liking, but does a great job at making the dark ages look fuckin miserable beyond belief.

Don’t think I can bring myself to watch ‘Don’t Look Up’ twice, just so I can ‘get it’. I can’t even think of one redeeming quality, besides maybe Rylance, who did the creepy billionaire fairly well. Everything about it is shit.

Also, surely Jennifer Lawrence is done as a celebrity. She’s so fucking sanctimonious and patronising much like her character in this. 3/10

Power of the dog is a beautiful film. Kirsten Dunst is heartbreaking in it and so much is left unsaid. How the fuck did Cumberbatch learn to play the banjo like that? 9/10

The last act makes up for a middling middle. For those that didn’t finish it, I totally understand, but the end is worth it.
