Current events made watch Death of Stalin again. Must be the third time. It’s still fucking brilliant. I could rewatch the Jason Isaacs-scenes over and over again, though maybe Simon Beale does the best acting in the movie.

I fucked Germany, I think I can take a lump of flesh in a waist coat.
10/10 idea. Would pay to watch
Just read that Robert Eggers is directing Nosferatu with Willem Defoe. I’m already shitting myself
The Adam Project - netflix latest Ryan Reynolds vehicle and it’s passable enough. However, there’s a far far better movie in there that occassionally shows itself so it’s a shame that it had to be Reynolds and Levy that picked it up. If a more serious / comedy resistant director had picked it up, I’m thinking it would have been a far better movie but then again it probably only got made because Reynolds wanted to do it after his dad passed away. 7 time jets / 10
Nightmare Alley. What an absolute cracker - the tension towards the end is unbearable. A solid 9/10. Can’t believe that RT gives it 80%. The art direction alone is off the scale. More of this in the cinema please.
Along_the_Wire good man.
The Hunt for the Wilderpeople…New Zealand comedy about an orphan who is taken in by a new foster family in the middle of nowhere… it’s by the same guy (Waititi) who wrote Jojo Rabbit, Flight of the Conchords and What We Do in the Shadows… pretty funny too - is similar in style/humour to JoJo Rabbit… 8/10
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: Always struggled with this movie and would give up about 30 mins in. Never really understood the hype. Now I do. Jim Carrey is amazing in this, definitely one of his best post-slapstick comedy performances. The premise is smart and it gets you thinking. It’s dreamy and weird in that signature Gondry way, guess I needed to work on my patience to see it through and appreciate it. Had no clue Ruffalo was in it, and Elijah Wood plays the scumbag well. Dunst is also very good in this. Surprised I didn’t see the ‘twist’ before. Solid break-up movie and I liked where it ended. 8.6/10
rhouses Great film that.
