Lost in Translation

Bill Murray loafing about a hotel in Tokyo comes across Scarlett Johansson, one of the few Americans enjoying her first year of marriage with a photographer that brought her along to accompany [him] on a work trip. The two [Bill Murray] enjoy a couple nights of drinking, authentic meals and enjoy both the culture and ambience of one another’s presence.

Brilliant watching experience and would have to be an 8/10.

segwin I love a boring film as much as the next man, but the problem with this one, which is never a good thing in film terms, is that it’s boring and shit. The only positive thing I can say about it is that when I went to Tokyo, I drank at the bar and eat at the restaurant. It was alright to be fair.

Watched “Midway” last night. I’m not typically into war movies, but this one was really entertaining. The cinematography was good, and the dogfighting scenes were so intense I found myself tensing up just watching. Really loved it. 9/10 for me. (I don’t love the guy they chose to play the lead) I’ll absolutely watch it again.

Scarlet looks fantastic in that pink wig. She gets a 9/10.

For me the mood of that film is the reason I love it. I’ve never been so into nothing happening.

I found myself on the edge of my seat HOPING they BOTH did and did-not share a kiss for the last hour of the film. Torn to say the least. Was she not 17 when the film was shot? Different times . . .

Green Room (2015, BluRay)

Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots and Paddy Stewart navigate a hostage situation at a far-right gig in the woods.

I really enjoyed this tight little number…..but enough about Imogen. Well acted, well paced, well crafted. Simple but effective. Good use of dogs.

Mark Ruffalo, Anne Hathaway and Tim Robbins sue DuPont for poisoning the world.

This is a worthy tale that starts out kind of alright but ends up dragging on a bit. It’s not completely unwatchable but you will glance at your watch.

Watched The Firm and lost interest after the 30 min intro into Cruise’s perfect life. Don’t know what happened but I hope he lost everything and ended up working at Walmart doing double shifts.
