Along_the_Wire Deliverance. Never seen it - pretty good, hard hitting for a film from 1972. 7/10

Check out ‘Southern Comfort’ for more fucked up and similar Hillbilly vibes. Some famous faces in amongst the cast too. Loved it back in the day.

It even references Deliverance in the trailer.

Breaker. True story, great acting and a great turn from Omar Little who was excellent. 8/10

The Receptionist. Got this muddled up with some other film, fuck me it’s grim, but brilliant. 9/0

The Burbs

Peak golden era Hanks; he, Dern, Feldman and Ducommun are all on fine form. Carrie Fisher barely gets a line, but is doing some great post Wars MILF work. The Joe Dante aesthetic works perfectly, again, pure 80s, and no surprise to see his art crew from the likes of Inner Space, Gremlins, and Eerie Indiana contributing to the production. Defo my fave Hanks movie, and also has a great outer space to street level zoom in for the opener and reverse for the closer. Also mostly shot in sequence too.

God I love this street.

James Cameron was asked about it, and answered that The Abyss 4K Blu Ray is finally coming in March 2023. DVD has been the best version available for now. I will deffo buy that.

Just not as good as I remembered it. Hanks is boss in it and clearly had a laugh doing it, but everyone else is crap, although in fairness the dialogue is crap so they didn’t have much to work with. It also has a very problematic pseudo paedo tit touching scene which is never getting made these days and I would guess is cut out any current releases. Oh, and, apparently, Millie Bobby Brown is doing some time travel shit and had a career as an actress called Elizabeth Perkins back in the 80s.

I really should post these as I watch them, how long ago did we get knocked out of the tournament? Feels like weeks ago.
