The Spengemanns (2023)
Watford, 2007. Entranced by his first visit to the Bedrock board and haunted by the powerful imagery of Fadas and Stefano1981’s effortless riffing, young Hugo Spengemann returns home seeking to plot his elevation to message board legend status. Hugo discovers an irresistible passion for writing endless polemics on his home computer. As a result, the boy’s projects become increasingly ambitious, inspired by widely-hated, posh boring cunts like Tom Harwood and Celia Walden. However, when a life-altering family secret hidden in plain sight puts a strain on family ties, influencing his work, Hugo will have to believe in the power of the word, embrace the slow process of editing down his paragraphs, and pursue his dream to become a storyteller.
