Jules72 where did you see it mate?

Along_the_Wire Odeon… completely empty.. would have gone to the Curzon but time didn’t work
Get Carter, still boss, five bottle of Newcie Brown out of five, Cain at his moody best. The idea that they tried to remake it with Stallone is mad. Also, forgot the scene where they go to the ‘Big Beat’ night, no Fat Boy in sight.
Still love the ‘eyes like piss holes in the snow’ line in Get Carter. Great film.

Prime Britt Ekland too
“You’re a big man, but you’re in bad shape. With me it’s a full time job. Now behave yourself” Great quote.
You don’t see too many films either where the main protagonist doesn’t win in the end. Refreshingly dark stuff.
The aforementioned Chinatown comes to mind in that regard.
My favorite bleak ending is The Mist though.
Oh and also got onto the sniper being in the train carriage with him on the way to Newcastle, almost too subtle.
Never clocked that. Seen it loads of times but been a good ten years since I last watched it. That final scene on the beach is bleak with the slag being dumped into the sea iirc
Yeah, it’s a pretty dark movie for the most part, same beach they used for the opening of Alien3, say no more.
Snowpiercer? Is this so good it’s bad? Or is it just bad? The concept feels so flawed.
I must say i was annoyed immediately by the The Trial Of The Chicago 7. I literally couldn’t get past the first 10 mins and binned it off.
Best thing about NBA is the Fast Show-skit where the cashier tells the customer it giver her father the shits.
Watching ‘Hereditary’ again. Fuck me what a film.

Oof. I’d watch it, SM. Not popular in these parts. I personally thought it was fine.
jonattonyeah Bah! Philistines.
Calm With Horses now on Netflix. Phenomenal soundtrack as well from Blanck Mass.
Henry Excellent, that’ll be lined up this weekend. Nice to see a bit of sense after all that Hereditary shite!
Calm with horses was excellent. Proper dark film.
And bollocks to anyone who didn’t like Chicago 7.

Underwater (2020, downloaded)
Kristen Stewart, Vincent Cassell, T.J. Miller are …… under water. Literally and figuratively. This film aims for a sort of claustrophobic subsea-Aliens vibe and it could have been decent, you feel, but it fails badly. I felt sorry for those involved.
2/10
Thought Dark With Horses was only ok. I really like Keoghan but thought this reeked of a low budget and could have been a bit better in general
C_J Kristen Stewart, Vincent Cassell, T.J. Mille
Now THAT is a cast.
Unhinged. Russell Crowe has a massive Reg over a bit of road rage and completely loses it chasing after Rachel Hunter. Not his best movie by a long shot.
Dubman Russell Crowe
I still love “Proof Of Life”
C_J have you seen The Abyss?
Cameron teased a 4K version of the Abyss two years ago. Getting tired of waiting for it.
watched baby driver last night and was pleasantly surprised. thought the sound was really well done.
That’s Edgar Wright for you. The king of the edit.
nicksneddon I have mate. A long time ago.
Den Of Thieves (2018, downloaded)
Gerry Butler, Pablo Schreiber, 50 Cent and [Ice Cube’s son] O’Shea Jackson Jr.
This is a proper guy’s movie. Cool guns, willy-waving cops, weight-lifting robbers. Fuck yeah.
It doesn’t all work perfectly, but you’ll like this.
