Blue Steel (1990)
Blind bought this on Blu ray, because it’s unavailable to stream even on rental in Finland, it was cheap, and hey it’s a Kathryn Bigelow-film I’ve not seen.
Starts like a normal late 80s/ early 90s thriller, then turns batshit crazy around 45 minutes. And I would have like it a lot less if it’d stayed sane. Terrific score from Brad “Terminator” Fiedel that’s unfortunately never been released.

Sorcerer (1977).
The Criterion Collection 4K Blu ray was one of the best physical media-releases of 2025 providing perfect picture (with normal bright colours instead of the over saturated hellscape of the 40th anniversary Blu ray) and the original audio for the first time on disc.
Sorcerer is better than Wages of Fear just by the virtue of the insane bridge-scene. I simply can’t understand how they made that in the seventies. It’s still one of the most nerve wrecking scenes in movie history.

Homegrove It is a brilliant film. I went to see it a few years ago at The Prince Charles cinema. During the bridge scene I’m pretty sure I gripped the seat so hard that I ripped the fabric. Great soundtrack as well.

Started off really good and loved cinematography and acting. It was all going so well up until the moment it turned into something completely different. I wouldn’t have mind if it made any sense but it just didn’t.
