Along_the_Wire mono-stereo I’ve only ever seen the prequels once each and the last two were only because I had to take the kids. Truly awful films that capture nothing of the originals. The last JJ Abrams one was a pleasant surprise. Completely agree on Mark Hamill - how the fuck did he get the job in the first place?
alistair mono-stereo Daisy Ridley’s character is just some glorified head girl. Completely lacking in nuance and depth. As for the completely underdeveloped, clunky Finn (Boyega said as much) and the CGI Leia, the less said about that the better. Rubbish compared to the original trilogy. It’s only the Mandalorian which has restored a modicum of self respect
Along_the_Wire I don’t see any nuance or depth in any of the original films either. That’s a laughable expectation from Star Wars.
alistair Along_the_Wire I don’t see underdeveloped villains, half baked ideas and a complete lack of originality in them. Derivative, wish fulfilment fantasies with shite actors (Adam Driver excepted).
mono-stereo Along_the_Wire I don’t see any nuance or depth in any of the original films either. That’s a laughable expectation from Star Wars. Exactly, the original 3 simply trade on nostalgia. They aren’t very good.
Mad_Cyril Daisy Ridley’s character provides a little bit of a role model figure for young girls and all that. For that alone is a refreshing change.
mono-stereo Mad_Cyril Daisy Ridley’s character provides a little bit of a role model figure for young girls and all that. For that alone is a refreshing change. Yup, agreed. She’s a decent actor, far better at playing the lead role than either of her predecessors.
Homegrove They fucked up bad, by not having a plan, instead of three different directors given free reign, who didn’t care what one had done previously. Force Awakens I can watch by itself, I think it’s a really good one.
Dan Disney’s Star Wars films are horrendous. However I did like Rogue One & their Mandalorian Series..
bosstrabs Dan What are your top 3 childhood movies? No googling. At different ages… The Goonies, The Breakfast Club and this…
Amps mono-stereo and the two by J J Abrams are the best, particularly the last one. I think he nailed it. Your trolling or you’ve been at the Toilet Duck again, not sure which.
alistair mono-stereo if you don’t rate the first three, why waste your time on the rest which really do trade on nostalgia. Let’s bring back Chewie, Han, original storm troopers, millennium falcon and a CGI Leia. No imagination at all
mono-stereo alistair Because I enjoyed the last three at the cinema, I thought I’d revisit the others just to double check they weren’t all as bad as I remembered.
