rhouses The last 10 minutes are some of the most chilling and confusing moments I’ve experienced in a movie like this as I dropped a nug of weed down the back of the cushion on my mobility scooter and accidently put the bloody thing into reverse with my arse as I twisted round to fish it out.

The missus was especially freaked by Eden Lake, said there were all of those sorts (the chavs) around the McDonalds near the hotel she was staying when she was on business trips to England. Found a lot of those loud bratty kids very intimidating, most of them probably wouldn’t think twice about stabbing random people.

Missus wanted to watch the original Alien. Happy to oblige, though I was worried how well it would work with my hangover. I’ve seen it several times before, yet the last 30 minutes were still pretty intense.

The Descendants. A whiff of Wes Anderson about it, dismissed it when it came out as always thought Clooney was shit, but seen a lot of films with him in that have been great and decided to watch it. Excellent film - 8/10

In the Shadow of the Moon (2019, Netflix)

This is a mystery/ sci-fi/ cop type of affair starring Boyd Holbrook, Michael C Hall and Cleopatra Coleman.

Fundamentally this is a fairly shit movie, but I dunno, I kind of gave it a pass. Primarily I think this is because I liked the cast and it felt like the sort of thing you’d rent from the video store in the 80’s and love as a 12 year old.

303abuser I enjoyed Hereditary. A step above the usual haunted house formula. I found it genuinely unsettling in parts, enjoyed the Kubrick vibe. Best horror film I’ve seen in a while.
