  • The New Artist Album Thread

The new albums from Vampire Weekend and Black Keyes are fantastic if you’re into indie rock. The Black Keyes especially took me back to my DJ gigs at what was the best indie bar here in Turku in about 2011.

Homegrove Pravda and Hope are cracking closers and Classical is lovely. Going to see them in Hammersmith later in the year.

New Local Natives is also good in the more melancholic indie rock type of a thing.

Vampire Weekend? Jesus Christ, lads, I know JC is a low bar, but fucking hell

Black Keys lost me a couple of albums back. But I would I would be happy to fire up Brothers (on vinyl) soon.

Thought I could listen to Vampire Weekend (was a huge fan in 2008 or whenever that first album came out), couldn’t.

New Khruangbin hits hard, especially with my morning coffee.

      rhouses Khruangbin is elevator music.

      Perfect if you’re stoned.

The new Vampire Weekend album is fucking awful.

        Cheers!

The new St Vincent album is on my listening list today.

SM001 the two continual mixes on the release are thoroughly enjoyable. Cheers

Have just hit play on this -

            Hold tight for feedback!

alistair Most definitely…. His Wrote for Luck remix is an all time fave.

Dan Early Depeche and Yazoo of course, but he wrote some incredible pop records with Erasure. Little Respect, Drama, Blue Savannah and Sometimes are classics.

It’s not great if we’re all being honest.

Mixed bag. When it’s good, it’s great, although I have already played three of the tracks to death in the last year. What was he thinking covering though.

Did see them play at Field Day last year or the year before.

                Thought they were great.
