It means he’s got thighs like Fatima Whitbread.

No doubt he does.. probably shares his wife’s Gillette sensor for that smooth finish.

Just got back from a second ride on the new carbon wheels. The bike definitely feels different. Much more stiffer especially going up a hill. Going to have to redial all my suspension settings. Can certainly see the appeal of a full carbon bike.

Dubman You can really feel it when you corner or change direction quickly (especially in quick succession) on a quality carbon bike - you can get shit ones, so beware

I’m well happy with my alloy frame & don’t intend on changing for a good few years. I couldn’t afford 5-6 grand anyway for a bike. I only got wheels because Trek done me a good deal.

You don’t need to spend anywhere near that to get a brilliant bike

…my lad seems to have prematurely ‘inherited’ my MTB, might be on the lookout for something new, not crazy about carbon frames for an off-roader, quite fancy a Cotic

Cotic are brilliant bikes, my wife had a Solaris and I enjoy nicking it off her from time to time.

You can’t go wrong with UK mtb manufacturers, solid bikes that will last a lifetime.

Orange are worth a look and Sonder too if you are on a budget.

…yeah, I kinda feel like MTB standards and tech change so fast, some of the more radical designs will age pretty quickly. Love the skinny-tubed steel frame look… consistently get brilliant reviews too.

I was looking at getting my lad a BFe hardtail before he got comfortable on my YT, now thinking it might be an excuse to give him mine and get a Rocket 😃

Had a Whyte T-129 which was awesome but sold it to get my Trek. Bird is another good UK bike company.

If ever there was a time / sign for a business / company to take a long hard look at itself, it’s at the moment that they create a position of Head of Winning Behaviour. Wow. The levels of hubris are off the charts.

      Cap doffed

Old-Dutch I wonder how big the Winning Behaviour team is?

Some great team meetings no doubt! Basically we need to win and be winning all the time.

        Drugs? 😂

Strade Bianche today - first race of the pro season. I’m reasonably excited.

Aberdeen versus Rangers and the FA Cup an all.

I know. Good luck in TT though. I’ll be out nice and early myself tomorrow. Just made a fresh batch if my energy bars as well.

Has anyone else seen the Fabio Jakobsen crash yet? Such an abrupt and devastating crash no wonder he’s in an induced coma.

Groinwegen or however you spell his name definitely forced him into the barrier, clear as day.

          Definitely.

That is bang out of order.

He’ll get a lengthy ban for that. A little drift to defend a position is usually just part of the game, but he went halfway across the road and stuck his elbow out. Doubt it was intentional, but at the speeds they’ll have been doing down the hill, it’s terrifying - 70kmh?

…do they really need a downhill section for a sprint finish? They go fast enough anyway, seems unnecessarily dangerous to me

Sprint stages are boring as fuck - why would you race for 5 hours just for the sprint at the end? Don’t get it. Climbers just use those stages as rest days.

            Terrible riding caused that

Jumbo Visma look incredible in the Critérium du Dauphiné. Ineos looked to have buried everyone with their pace on the front yesterday, but they seemed to only fuck their own own team (Froome is finished) - Roglic broke them all and just eased away.

They’ll win the TdF and I’d love it if Roglic or Dumoulin won it.
