Along_the_Wire I didn’t see that attack you’re speaking of, mate. I’m a sunshine supporter, I only get around to the Tour because I’m off work and I can drink cocktails while watching, I’ve no idea about the technical stuff.
I do love watching it though, the nerves watching the last 10k like yesterday can’t be matched imo. Throw in all the scenery and commentary and I’m in my element.
I’ll keep a beady eye on Pogacar now.

LT42 I love it all - sprint stages are a bit tedious, but just love the commentary and general cycle chat. Got a couple of nasty ops coming up and have to isolate/recover for a couple of weeks at home - perfect.

Yeah its a great few hours laid out on the couch. I love the sprint stages myself, its very interesting and also impressive how they position themselves as a team beforehand. Seeing the yellow jersey crash yesterday and then jump straight back on to catch the peleton to help Jakobsen, its briiliant.

He’s like these ‘hybrid athletes’ which is the new thing apparently, muscular people competing in endurance events, and it seems to work, really challenging the old adage of being super skinny. That being said, as mentioned, can’t see him climbing like the out and out climbers

Fuck me, just seen that WVA attack. Never seen anything like that - a fucking machine. He can climb, but he can’t do it day after day which will be coming. Listened to some podcast today - he’s come 2nd in 100 races - that’s fucking mental.

Hursty so does the Tour just boil down to who’s good in the mountains? All this kerfuffle early doors and then Pogacar who’s been sightseeing for the past 5 days just rocks up and takes the win. There must be more to it than that. I’m nailing my flag to Van Aert’s mast anyway.

LT42 to win the tour you absolutely have to be a great climber who can nail TTs. That’s been the pattern for a long time now. Froome, Thomas, Wiggins, Pogacar and Roglic all very good in this area.

WVA won on Ventoux last year, so he can climb, it’s just the consistency. He’s going for the green jersey anyway, which he’ll easily get - his job will be the wasted on of trying to deliver yellow to Roglic.
