Along_the_Wire seat 1a was ok. Oi oi.
My only long haul nowadays is gatwick 777. Hardly inspirational planes.

mono-stereo You’re offsetting your entire journey? Yeah? With a well researched, independently checked, credible company? Yeah?
benson first isn’t any different to their other planes and business is their old ying yang stuff. It’s quieter up top is all you can really say about it
Smallman1 Lounge was good, apart from the amateur sat near us who asked one of the cleaners for a bottle of champagne.
We’re in San Francisco for a few days then driving down the coast.
Hursty Yeah, up at the front. Dead quiet. Old Ying Yang design as Grant says but I actually don’t mind them.
As long as you book the right seats (53a for example) you don’t have anyone climbing over you.

Lol!

Done it a few times, spectacular trip. Enjoy, mate.
We did wine tasting in Carmel. Galante vineyards and his mrs, dawn’s dreams. Both have tasting salons in Carmel. Great stuff
Monterey bay aquarium is amazing. Well worth visiting.
Flew out to SFO and back from LAX with a grand worth of wine I purchased when absolutely steaming in Carmel.
Flight out was delayed 5 hours. Got £560 each back from BA. Plus drank a bucket load of grand siecle in THE LOUNGE.
Delayed coming back as well. It was a points flight. So basically free return first class to the west coast.
Those were the days.
Santa Barbara is a nice little town to stoat about in also. The brother and I sat in on a Scientology introduction one afternoon for the craic. Good Mexican restaurants there too.
Total hydraulic failure suspected
RIP
The wall at the end of the runway didn’t help
Can’t see the wings in brake position, no wheels? Brick wall? No option to abandon in water? No fuel dump? No aviation expert but seems like the bird strike took out the hydraulics but then the landing was almost kamikazee at that speed.
Awful stuff.
Grim
The plane landed half way down the runway, shortening the stopping distance significantly as well. How difficult can it be? dump the fuel, glide in, ensure ground control are prepared and land at the beginning of the runway.
Dry-Tinder I would normally agree… but are any of us pilots?
Millsy I saw it when Hursty posted it and I had no words to be honest.. grim would be a good word
5 huge incidents past few weeks, not good for aviation. I always was a nervous flyer and had a bad flight in October, all this just puts flying to bed for me. Bit of a control freak I suppose not a great passenger either.
