The General Covid19 Thread
zackster most of the time I look back on my US college undergrad education, it just hurts thinking about what a monumental waste of money it was. However, the side hustle phd in drug consumption and fist pumping power prog was crucial in my development.
It’s a shitty system, but now I find myself complaining about the masters/mba glass ceiling in corporates.

Will anti vaxers ultimately mean there are no anti vaxers?
I could not give a single shit. I understood some hesitancy in some groups initially, trust wasn’t there, but it’s been a year since my first jab and my head hasn’t fallen off.

Get aload of Donal Trump over here.
First in line, Zackster! The Jeff Mills of vaccination-receivers.
Funky I think there probably is, Funky.
Mask mandates across the board reinstituted for all nine Bay Area Counties. This should be a rough few weeks but we’ll get through it. The vaccines are holding up very well but the positive cases are through the fucking roof. We might top 1,000 a day just in San Francisco.
As for herd immunity, not happening.
People in the U.K. finally beginning to twig that Onicrom may be the end of severe covid.. remember this projection of a range of deaths of 25k-75k by the end of April…. A little more than 2 weeks ago… these numbers looked stupid then and even more stupid now..
Still reporting cases over admissions as well, just pick the higher number it’s more dramatic!

Only goes to show how wrong SAGE were/are.
Sajid Javid especially can go and do one with his comments about big spike in deaths….

Get a load of Captain Hindsight here - who only a couple of weeks ago was still was happy to allow further restrictions, including the closing of nightclubs, “to avoid” the so-called “worst case scenario” - which was always a million miles off being a reality.
alistair and Sir Keir wouldn’t have lifted restrictions in July and would have imposed a pre Christmas lockdown.
Yep, one need only look at the absolute clusterfuck of Welsh Labour and the SNP to see how totally unnecessary so many of the restrictions are and have been, and to register the extent to which they’re motivated by political and temperamental viewpoints.
Generally those leaning socialist have been much more risk averse and lacking in minerals, so have been much more keen to hunker down and impose restrictions.
Furthermore, as they and their supporters are more likely to work in the public sector or low-paid roles, and less likely to be “wealth creators” they’re much more happy to see the economy trashed and dynamism reduced.
