Along_the_Wire you’ll need to boost with ever increasing frequency to maintain antibody levels given immunology fatigue… that to me is stupid. They’re trying to force boosters using vaccines that weren’t designed for omicron…

Just read they are going to threaten to introduce booster requirements for big events and to avoid travel quarantine.. basically they’re threatening to change the fully vaccinated definition to including booster…idiotic - we are nearly at the end of this

          Doubtful. We’ll never erradicate it and even attempting to do so is possibly misguided due to limited resources and a general population that cannot even do very simple mitigation activities.

          With all these Omicron infections, we’ll hit a sweet spot for a few months before likely having to wrestle with it again later this year. Covid isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Two steps forward, one step back.

              jonattonyeah ah hold on… I’m talking about severe covid… from here, new strains are unlikely to be deadly. Of course it will be circulating but it will be flu-ish going forward, not worse

                  Yeah, fair. I wasn’t trying to be doom and gloom. At all. After we get through January and maybe a few weeks more, we should be good, for a while at least. Oddly, one problem with Covid is the high rates of people who are asymptomatic. It’ll be rummaging around in people who feel perfectly fine. It also seems to enjoy other animal hosts which is very problemmatic given it’s difficult to track. It’ll likely be similar to the flu (even though it is not the flu) in that some years will be better than others. But it’s here to stay, my friend. But whatever. Pretty much everything is trying to kill us at all times anyway.

                      Vaccinations, boosters and top top bants are the way out of this.

                        Just got my result back. Positive. But I feel okay for the most part. Just a bit fatigued and irritated. But yeah it’s pretty much everywhere. Bunch of positives at the bar as well. It appears we’re all going to get this at some point over the next few unless you lock yourself away from literally everyone.

                        As for the booster talk earlier, just got this….

                        “In compliance with local and state orders, all City employees who are routinely assigned to or occasionally enter High-Risk Settings must receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine by February 1, 2022. The vaccination and reporting requirements are conditions of City employment and a minimum qualification for employees who are routinely assigned to or working onsite in High-Risk settings. ”

                          Should be able to declare “victory” before the midterms here in the USofA, it makes the most sense politically.

                          Otherwise they might have to renew all those emergency authorizations that are now 2 years old, which could be plan b
