Old people in die shocker. Many die of flu every winter and it barely makes the news. Now that cases are starting to plummet, and all the at risk groups nearly vaccinated, the imminent question will be what is an acceptable level of death? A nigh on 0 Covid target is insane.

Do you accept the long-term effects of covid are still unknown but that ‘long covid’ is a real issue over and above the more binary issue of mortality, Alistair? If so, would the mortality rate only serve as one measure here? Also let’s not pretend one jab makes a true vaccination.

They don’t even know how long the vaccinations will work for as the data is still be looked at, could only be a few months according to some sources. The missus made me laugh this morning when she told me the only available vaccine for me will be the Chinese one, I’ve accepted the new normal and it won’t get me down, I’ve better things to be doing.

From what I’m told, a booster might be needed but the vaccine should be sufficient for a while now.

We’ve had two people who were vaccinated who tested positive after the fact. But neither had any symptoms and their viral load seemed low enough to not worry about being contagious.
