        alistair I’d agree with that. People delayed seeking help for other treatable conditions, cancers got diagnosed later. Seems quite plausible and I have to say second time round there was more covid in the hospital but other services still carried on.

                So the SA variant arrived from an African country other than SA. The individual who brought it did isolate but someone living with him/her caught it and spread it to a care home.
