Along_the_Wire Antiviral pills are only just available and they’re for when you’re already ill with the fucking thing and there’s more work required on single jabs.

Also lined up for more vulnerable groups / immunocompromised etc…

Jules72 Interesting question though is who decides the new modified boosters should be produced? It won’t be the pharmas because they stand to make more money from vaccines that are used as regularly as possible…

Yeah - it’s a bit of a mess huh? I think the pharma companies will continue to push their existing products if (and it’s a massive if…) they continue to show efficacy against whatever emerging variant is out there. Again, let’s hope this is the last big go around on variant outbreaks…

That said, I read earlier this week that AZ/Oxford University have been working on an updated version of their vaccine specifically targeting Omicron.

Let’s hope this time next year we’re getting our first annual COVID vaccination?

I’d imagine they’re a doddle to get hold of. You sure the tech on those haven’t been rushed and that we know all the long-term effects?!

Along_the_Wire Don’t no same goes for anything related to this man made flu but at least you only take it if you get the bloody thing.

Would also add to that it seems to work for all strains including Omicon, also good for people with needle phobia, anxiety and possibly anti vaxxer’s so sounds like a game changer to me along with hopefully a more efficient vaccine that isn’t needed to be mandatory.

Sigma up next on the variant front.

      Can’t wait.

Funky the pills won’t come near the same level of output as the vaccines in terms of rollout, there are reagents and materials used in them that will be hard to acquire in order to meet demand.

Ah balls! Sure he’ll be grand mate. Hopefully won’t affect your Christmas
