Along_the_Wire no it’s exactly the same. just let old people die and go about your life like everything is fine.
The General Covid19 Thread
I think it should also be pointed out that this thing fucks up your brain, not just your lungs. A very under appreciated fact, imo.
Would love to have had Hugo’s insights when AIDS first hit. ’Well it won’t stop ME having unprotected sex with trollops’
Millsy or monkeys
“It just leads to pneumocystis pneumonia and certain death. I’m not seeing the big deal. It’s 1982. Time to move on.”
Back to Berghain!
Hugo: ’Well I for one won’t be watching Philadelphia or any film that glorifies extreme weight loss’
Hugo must have come empty-handed with his cold and flu hospitalisation stats, he’s been off a while here whilst this red flag hits the stratosphere.
Hugo perma banned from Berghain because he can’t remember he’s already already asked to hear Hale Bopp 10 times that evening.
Boring the living soul out of the DJ talking about Hale Bopp in his ear and then licking the pillar next to him in covid defiance.

303abuser does that not tell you there’s a difference between covid and a cold or flu?
No, it tells you that there is a weird overreaction going on.
Along_the_Wire he’s been off a while here
The stats on London ICUs being barely above a normal winter (despite being a supposed omicron hotspot nightmare) were already posted earlier today).
Hugo may have made some very hurtful comments about me (I didn’t leave my bedroom for a week after that), but he may have a point here - if deaths don’t pick up then it looks like a moderate to bad flu .. 150 deaths per day x 90 = 13,500 over the winter (ish)… a severe winter’s flu kills 10-20k right?
2 things to remember:
- High infection rates increase the chances of future mutations.
- “MAN CLAIMS MILD SNIFFLE ESCAPED BİO-WEAPON IS THE SAME AS A COLD. MAY HAVE SEVERE CONCUSSION.”

it’s only weird if you aren’t very bright.

he’s missed the point completely, as always. the concern with this variant isn’t a high death rate, more that it’ll knock out a good chunk of the workforce (where healthcare workers are of particular concern) because of how quickly it spreads. people may not be ending up in hospital, icu, or dead as often, but due to the number of cases, it’ll still overwhelm hospitals with staff shortages (because people are still sick/symptomatic).

You’re missing the point I’m afraid.
As Alistair’s Twitter Mate, John BERK-Murdoch, clearly illustrates (with a chart no less) ICU NUMBERS ARE DOWN.
Lets not muddy the waters by broadening the perspective!
